How do you handle challenging situations?
Intervention can look different depending on the child and situation. The strategies we use vary on the child. We use Pyramid Model strategies (such as breathing techniques, counting, listening to music, drinking water, getting hugs or squeezes, taking space, etc.) along with the strong relationships we develop to help the child get to a better head space where conversation and problem solving can happen. What works for one child might not work for another, but the teachers continue to try different strategies until they find one that helps that child be successful.
What does a day look like at your Center?
Each classroom is a little different depending on the age of the children. All the classrooms have outside time, circle time, mealtimes (breakfast, lunch, and two snacks), nap time, planned activities, and free time in the classrooms.
